Is there an app that can measure short distances walked, inside a building?

......or failing that, is there an app which can do either the above or one which allows me to point my iphone 5 camera at one point, then point at another and measure the distance in metres?

I've been promoted at work (yaayy!!) and my role is now different as I've moved to a specialist post. This sometimes requires me to measure travel distance inside buildings. Easy enough to do in the office using plan drawings but when out on audits it would be handy if there was an app available to do something like this to make life easier and save me pacing it out.

Since its inside buildings, not sure if something based on GPS would be ideal if getting a GPS signal indoors was an issue.

You're not going to get anything remotely accurate out of a phone, not unless it comes equipped with a laser range/distance finder, ie - the proper tool for the job you're wanting to do.
Screwfix and the likes sell them and you'll get +/- 1mm accuracy for around £90/100.

Alternatively, a tape measure is the cheap option
