Is there an IntelliPlug type thing for TVs?

I've got some "DeskTop Computer" IntelliPlugs which simply monitor the current on the master socket and turn the child/peripheral ones off accordingly - Simple!

However, these plugs don't quite work on my plasma TV, with the plug clicking the peripherals on/off randomly when the TV is in use.

Anyone have a plug that DOES work with their TV. Note: I don't want one which requires you to use the remote. Just one just looks at if the TV is drawing (enough) current.
 
Why not the remote method? :confused: It works fine for me. Press stanby on the remote and all 6 sockets switch off. Press tv standby and everything comes back on.

Because I never use the remote to turn the TV off at the end of the day, just press the power switch as I walk by. So want it based on power usage not having to pick up/second guess remote signals.

Works perfectly with both computer and telly.
 
I have one meant for laptops, the computer remains on permanent live on one socket, you then connect a usb to the computer and your multi plug goes on the peripheral socket, each time the computer is switched on all the other bits get switched on, which is fine by me.

Haven't tested it yet, hmm perhaps i should brb.

And yup works a treat, so far anyway only thing is i can't watch telly on it's own, though i rarely do as i have a freeview card anyway. ;)

I have the same one as the OP, I think as long as you have something which has a steady current going through it then the peripheral devices should stay on, perhaps a surround sound system?

However I do experience some problems when switching the inputs, it sometimes drops the peripherals as it thinks the current has been lowered, thus the system is off...
