Is there an M-Itx case that takes an ATX PSU? Not a cube type.

I'm looking for something that doesn't seem to exist, in that I'd like an HTPC type case but smaller (350mm deep inc cable access). I'm looking along the lines of the Wesena ITX cases, but they require an external power brick from what I can see.

What I'd like is an M-Itx rig, with a standard PSU, slimline DVD Writer, one 3.5" HDD, low profile 5770, and one external 3.5" bay to take a card reader.

I know that a 500W PSU is overkill, and I should simply flog it and buy a SFF power supply, but I'd like to use the bits I've got and simply buy a new MB and case.

If I discount the Lian Li cubes and the Silverstone SG07-8 (which are still basically cubes) I'm at a loss really. Are there any out there?

By the very nature of fitting a full-sized ATX PSU into a Mini-ITX case you're going to get a cube. So no, I don't think what you want exists.

M-atx desktop style HTPC cases are the nearest thing that fits your criteria.
Nothing the size of Wesena ITX cases exists that will take an atx psu and what you want to shove in it!

Yeah, that's pretty much what I figured but, "if you don't ask....." :D

Maybe I'll build one.

I'd be interested in finding out what you're putting together (in your sig), considering what you recently sold!

Trying to get the PSU leads from a full size PSU inside a Cubitek Mini-Tank itx case is a pig even with modular cables so i'm not sure how much you can get away from the cube shape while keeing it small.

I have a Wesena ITX-6 sat here with 150w pico and a blue ray drive waiting for Llano m-itx to appear(if ever) before I finish that HTPC.
The bits I've just sold were in that.
Until Intel have an onboard gpu which displays properly synced 1080p I won't be using any of their cpu's for a htpc again.
Plus I couldnt find a low enough low profile cooler for the build as I want to use 3.5" drive bay in the build and this forces the use of something under 50mm to cool it with(nasty)

As for Gaming I'm currently running a Lian-li PC v354 with an i5 2500k @4.7ghz on almost silent custom water cooling on an Asus P8P67m pro,8gb cas 8 1600 Ripjaws and an Asus direct cu GTX 580.
It's really quiet and "almost" near my idea of a lot of whallop in a small form factor.

With Z68 now available I'll probably shrink it again into a Cubitek Mini Tank with a Gigabyte Z68 board when they appear.

Not Itx relevant but I also have a Panzerbox case sat here I've just tricked out with custom water for a high end Bulldozer build which will go back in the box until AMD pull their fingers out

How about one these m-atx cases

silverstone GD04 440 mm (W) x 150 mm (H) x 323 mm (D)

Or GD05 440 mm (W) x 150 mm (H) x 325 mm (D)

Those are two that I didn't find Chaparral. Thank you.:cool::cool:

They are a little higher than I would like, but should work, and the even better aspect is that I could move SWMBO's existing M-ATX setup straight into either of them.

I'll start searching! :D

Thanks for the info Legion. I'm really keen to go SFF at the moment and those Wesena cases look the Mutt's.

SWMBO's rig is in a V351B at the moment which is simply awesome, but she doesn't need the capability of the case, so the Silverstone's that Chaparral pointed out might be ideal for her rig, and I'll strip my Skeleton down and shift to the LL on a M-Atx board.

I'm just keen to investigate smaller PC's at the moment, but no doubt will be back to a huge tower in the future. :o

I'm undecided on that case Ice Tea, and your comment has pretty much killed it! :D

I do really like the FT03 and the Lian Li cubes, not to mention the Sugo SG05 etc. but they just were not what I was looking for in this instance.

Before Chaparral posted the dimensions of the two Silverstones, I had assumed an M-Atx HTPC style case was always the depth of my previous Silverstone Lascala (which was over 400mm deep).

Silverstone Grandia's are excellent cases brother.
Really smart looking and will fit nicely with any other AV equipment you have.
