Is there an online Map service that can do this?

I'm sure I've seen this before but can't remember its name....its basically a world map like Google Maps and users can place a pin on the map to indicate their location. The ideas is to get a geographical veiw of where everyone, say in this forum, is.
From memory, one person would initiate/start the "Map", then pass the URL to the forum/group of contacts and then they would mark their location and name so you could see who was were.
Any ideas?

That'd be painful.

There was a member here (Blighter) who set up a map of OcUK users round the world, it had a lot of us on it, but he went to pastures new, don't know if it's still kicking around online anywhere or not.
 
you mean like google maps can do ? :P

can add to the example one i've just made if you want and use that, just click 'edit' at the left, and place a pin using the controls that appear at the top left of the map.

RiPz, and pimper, those works great, BUT you have to be signed into a Live or Google account to edit and add to it. The map I'm talking about allowed anyone to add to it, but you could only access the map by the link provided by the person that started the map. Does that make sense?

It does.. but everyone has a google account.. don't they? :P
 
Ah yes, just found the thread. Unfortunately it was removed because people were ruining it.

A member made it themselves on their website.
