Am rapidly losing my patience with this. All I want/need is a simple report of usage via my ISA Server which allows me to see how much bandwidth each of my users are using and to what sites.
I've tried both Internet Access Monitor and ProxyInspector log analysers but both are frankly hopeless. They're intent on producing ridiculously over-complicated breakdowns which don't show me anything useful. They're either full of IP addresses instead of hosts or else show me endless lists of invididual xyz.youtube.com hosts when all I want is the total to the youtube.com TLD. Both also have far too many instances of "unknown" in their breakdowns, often with the vast majority of traffic attributed to this element, which is useless. To top it all, each is giving me wildly differing figures when pointed at the same log files.
Is there anything out there that will actually do what I want and produce simple, useful reports? I'm staggered that a product like ISA Server doesn't have this built-in tbh.
It could well be that these problems are largely a limitation of the log files that they're both analysing so maybe what's needed is something which actually integrates with ISA itself and analyses the traffic flowing through it rather than looking at the resulting logs?
Any advice appreciated.
EDIT: Just had another look at the built-in reporting in ISA and it's a lot better than I remember it from previous versions so that's good but it's still fairly obtuse.
