is there any difference between 4x1gig sticks or 2x2gig sticks

as title really.

Im upgreading soon, (would be now if these prices were out 2 weeks ago) lol

I will be getting 4 gigs, but is there any proformance difference between.

And

2x2.

it would depend on how much or if you intend to OC and also your CPU. The 2 x 2gb modules do not Over clock as well as an individual 1gb module. But, they can typically run between 700Mhz - 900Mhz or so. So, if you are Over clocking at a 1:1 ratio, you should be able to go to about a 450mhz FSB which is good for most CPUs these days. If you want to Over Clock using the memory dividers, then you may get a better top RAM speed from 4 x 1gb modules."

My CPU will be a Q6600
most likly a Abit IP35 pro board

2x2gb will be fine with a Q6600.

Something like this or this will do the trick.
