is there any differences between all the 5770's on the OC store?

I've decided that I will get one for sure, but whats the difference between them all?

only one that i could point out was the Powercolor is PCS+ - 4900Mhz, where as the others are 4800Mhz

I would just get the club 3d one and overclock it a bit. They have a decent cooler (the egg shape one) so should overclock quite a bit

The one you are looking at is slightly overclocked already. But you can grab any one of these 5770s and overclock using the ATI Catalyst Tool, it is very simple and you won't damage using ATI's CCC.

If you can go for the Sapphire 5770 Vapour X cards they are cooled slightly better than others but cost slightly more other than these very minor differences they are all more or less the same.

i read about some manufactures doing some cost cutting in places.
ie, someone bought a 5770 which was pretty bog standard, then bought another XFX one, and noticed that a) the card was about half a centimeter longer (both used the old ATI reference cooler ... the batmobile one...), and b) it only had one crossfire connector as opposed to the standard two.

in other words, take a good hard look at them, read a few reviews and see if anything jumps out at you

i think that'll be my choice then =]

think i'll get the OCZ ModXStream Pro 600w PSU, that should be fine with my Intel Core Duo 2.13Ghz (its not a amazing i know lol)

I never knew how to overclock CPU's or GPU's until i joined the overclockers forums, but now i do and it is easy with the help you will get here. Believe me when i say paying an extra £20 on a 25Mhz pre overclocked card is bad value for money when it will take you 5 mins to do that yourself.

good point!! i'll keep that in mind when i order it.. im just really nervous about changing the PSU and GPU

last time i tried was on my uncles PC, couldnt get it to boot on to the OS.. just failed after the bios hahhaa

i have had problems with pre clocked cards in the past so now i just go for stock speeds when i buy them, last time it was with a 8800gt, it was fine in all my games except for oblivion where it would lock up the system after a while
i had to bring the card back to stock speeds to play the game

When you install the drivers it installs a utility call catalyst control centre (CCC) which has a section called ati overdrive. It's a simple matter of sliding the bar up a couple notches and pressing "test" until the test fails. Or even use its auto overclock feature (though I find it's not always stable and it takes ages). I have mine at 945/1300 now from the stock 850/1200 and it didn't cost me a penny. It's definately worth doing. Read the stickies in the overclocking section for some basic overclocking how to's
