Is there any 'fix' for pages reloading in Safari when you navigate backwards?

This is incredibly annoying. I've been using Safari for about 6 months since I got my rMBP and none of the updates from have fixed the problem. Everytime I swipe backwards when using Safari the entire page that I looked at last reloads, so there's a 5-10 second delay before I can start properly browsing the web page again.

Anyone know of a fix? I could just use Chrome, I know, but that kills battery life.

It's not a problem I've seen,then again I run no extensions.

Tried logging off or restarting after disabling the extensions?

I've just tried both and it's had no effect. Problem is still there.

When you swipe back you can actually see the blue bar reload in the URL box, and if the content on the page has been updated in between leaving a page and swiping back to it, you get the new content, so it definitely is reloading the thing.

So I guess this isn't a prevalent thing?

I've just found out it seems to be a lot faster if I use the 'back' button rather than the touchpad swipe.

It's strange that there doesn't appear to be a fix for this, given how noticeable the problem is (for me at least). The next time someone says about Apple products, 'They just work (and windows sucks)!' I'm going to laugh in their face.

It's hardly an overreaction. As I say, I've been dealing with this problem for over 6 months expecting a fix to happen automatically, but nothing's happened. It just seems to be a defect in Safari.

It's not reloading the page. It's loading the page as if it's the first time as it doesn't store it in cache. What you see when you swipe is a cached bitmap image of the page before it's loaded.

Isn't there a way to make it load a cached version of the page then?
