is there any point in me getting vista?

i am wondering is there any point in me getting vista yet?

i am still at school so i have to do a lot of work at home and load it onto school computers which i am sure will be XP for quite a while, would i be able to even run any of the stuff i do at home on these computers then?

or would i have to get vista but keep ms office 2003?

If you feel it would benefit you, then why not. If your happy with XP, then stick with that for now.

That depends on if you intend to write programs that use any API's that are unique to Vista and not in XP. If your writing programs in C++, Java, then these programs should run on any platform (Macs, Unix, XP, etc).

If your talking about Office 2007, then it saves Word Documents as XML documents as default. These will not be compatible with Word 2003. You can however save them as standard documents that can be read with Word 2003.

oh right thank's. well i have heard vista is really needed for all the new gaming and stuff but i will probably wait until the end of this school year and start a fresh in the summer
