I currently have a 3700x running in a b350-f cooled by a cryorig tower cooler. I'm looking at upgrading my case & motherboard then replacing the 3700x with a 4000 series once they are released.

I always wanted to build a custom loop so thought I might do that while I am on with it. But I keep seeing comments like you can't really overclock ryzen so there's no point in water cooling.

My GPU is a vega 64 which I would also been looking to replace in the near future, so I don't see the point in buying a water block and cooling that also, and I'm not sure if I would be comfortable taking a GPU apart to add a water block once I buy a new one.

So is there any point in the cost and effort of building a loop just to cool a ryzen CPU ?

edit-:/ should have put this in the water cooling section, my bad
