a lot of people ask me to spec them PC's
but this ones getting to me ! a PC for around 500. including a 17'' TFT

ive been looking on the usualy bit Retailers websites ( high street) and their PC's are not acctually THAT bad specs for the money.

i was hopign to sell this guy my Abit AN8-SLI 32X i have, and base it around a dual core 3800,
he wants it for his daughter for homework etc.
but im strating to wonder... is there any point in buildign one in this cae ? or should i just direct him to wally world.

yeh.. but if you build it.. he could pick a case, which his little 1 would like... like pink with neon's, insted of silver or what ever

gaming machines and pro rigs are better to build yourself, web boxes and office machines are a lot better to buy off the shelf, they come preloaded with software, have a garuntee for the unit and not individual components and can be had very cheaply in bundles with tfts...

Custom pc prize by any chance :p

For £500 go for an off the shelf tbh. Although pick your company carefully and when you get it, reformat it to get rid of all the junk software they come with.

I'd have to agree. If it is just for office tasks and internet then off-the-shelf is your best bet. Loads of software, guarantee and more often than not a half decent TFT thrown in.
