some say there is and a lot say that in new monitors the vga options are hard to distinguish from dvi

so how far as vga come compared to dvi in your opinions?

It depends on the model of monitor. There are some monitors where the image quality will be visually identical whether you are using a VGA or DVI connection. In other cases there is a discernable difference in image quality but it isn't always a clear-cut 'anaolgue vs. digital' difference. Some monitors seem to set themselves up differently when operating under VGA modes. There are other times when the VGA signal is poorly processed by the monitor and in the latter case the digital option turns out to be the best.
