Aside from all the obvious stuff, you wouldn't defrost something like that outside the lad. As soon as you did it would start to degrade.

Unless the OP means is there any truth in that could it be possible a mammoth could be preserved in such a way rather than the bigger picture of a guy with a 300watt hair drier!

Those pics are amazing! from looking at the context of some of them, and looking again at the mamoth one... is it possible its a painting on a wall - similar in style to some of the pavement art?
