Is there anything I need to upgrade?

Hi

Basically at the moment I'm in the middle of deciding on upgrades for my PC, but looking at the PC now, my thoughts are to upgade the graphics card and change the 2x 1GB memory for 2x 2GB memory. But will my CPU hold me back in say a year or so's time? Basically I want to kinda 'future proof' (if there are even such words in computing) my computer for at least the next year so I can play everything that's out now and coming out at good quality graphics settings. My current build is:

Pentium Dual-Core E2180 @ 3GHz (stock speed is 2GHz, I'm probably going to try to OC it a bit more to 3.2GHz soon).

Gigabyte GA-73PVM-S2H GeForce 7100 Micro-ATX motherboard (I bought this as a mistake about a year ago but could never be bothered returning it for a full size ATX mobo, it has everything I need on it , like I don't have an abundance of components in my computer so it's not like I need more mobo connections etc).

2GB DDR2 Corsair 6400C5 TwinX Dual Channel memory (I'm going to take this out and buy 4GB Corsair XMS2 DHX DDR2 PC2-6400C4 TwinX Dual Channel memory).

Radeon HD 3850 256MB (this card is getting on a bit now, especially with only 256MB of memory and my monitor's max res is 1680 x 1050, I'm only using 1440 x 900 atm so I'm going to be buying a GTX 260 216 core soon)

2x HDD's (160GB Maxtor, 300GB Hitachi Deskstar, I don't really need any more space to be honest)

Cooler Master Real Power 520W Modular PSU (I upgraded this recently)

And I have a rubbish £15 case that looks rubbish and is generally rubbish so I am definitely going to be getting a new case).

Basically my main question was if I upgrade the memory and GPU to the components I have mentioned, will my CPU suffice for the next year or so?

Thanks for your help.

Edit: I forgot to mention that my budget is limited to like £250 at the moment.

Good calls on the memory and GPU upgrades, but yes I think CPU would be your bottleneck at that point. Luckily you still have plenty of room (metaphorically) on that board for upgrading CPU. E5200 would be within your budget and would bring things more into balance.

If you can stretch your budget for your CPU it would make a sizeable difference but that 5200 will get you through the next year I'd imagine.

Do it all now, at your res a 4850 is prob enough, ditch your old RAM and use new stuff instead, new case for better cooling, and OC the 5200
