How satisfying to complete a total system build or major upgrade, press the power button and everything works exactly as it should first time. No strange beeps, no video problems, the operating system installs flawlessly......

Over the years, what percentage would you say has worked at the first push of the button?

95% + ....

I'd not expect anyone to be below 75% unless they either....

1. Mishandle the hardware / Too incompetent to handle PC hardware.
2. Buy a lot of cheap and unreliable hardware.
3. Are seriously unlucky.
4. Make an honest and silly mistake often, like forgetting a cable or not quite connecting it correctly.
5. Buy components with compatibility problems(known or unknown - you won't necessarily know until it happens).

Usually it's something relatively simple though, loose/missing cable, misconfiguration, etc...

I must be about 90% to, I only really had problems on the first one I did, which was the memory not seated correctly as I didnt realise how hard you have to push it in.
I'm thinking your first water cooling has to be more satisfying TBH.

I haven't done many builds but just went from 990fx to z97 and had a lot of problems with ram, it wouldn't boot then it wouldn't detect more than 4gb eventually I just put 1 in and restarted then another and restart till all were in.

Mine is 0% as I've only assembled one...and it was down to leaving the DVI cable connected to the mobo output rather than GPU.

Very simple fix indeed, but a mistake nonetheless. I thought it was far more serious until a mate informed me I'd been the definition of a simpleton!
