Is there anything wrong with being a nerd?!

Nothing wrong with it in my opinion.

If you want to make some ships, then why the hell not? It's not like you are hurting any one. Any one who ridicules you, are either just an immature git, or just a git.

I'm pretty tolerant of most type of people and don't have any predujice against the good majority. What does wind me up is people who aren't tolerant of others.

yes, this is a red bull inspired post, as I have been stuck at work since 9am, if it doesn't make much sense then that's why.

I am in full agreement with that :)

An example - I've just bought 3 revell model kits and fully intend to spend my weekend putting them together...whats worse is that they're models of battlestar galactica ships..

Let me guess...

Cylon Basestar, Cylon Fighter and Viper from the original series, right?

Nothing sad about that.

You'll find to be quite a good hobby

LOL, in this day and age does it really matter. I'd say you only really have a problem if you are depressed. Up 'til that point be whatever takes your fancy.

I hardly think building models is going to 'make' you look like a nerd, unless you do nothing but talk to everyone about it, build 24/7 and never change your clothes to anything but the same over and over again, never go out and never go on dates or attempt to talk to anyone of the opposite sex..!!

Model building can teach you concentration and attention to detail, but as a hobby - nah..

Geeks are those who like to get new gadgets, interested in owning lots of gadgets but do go out and have a social life... I think most can be a tad geeky, nothing wrong with that..

In all honesty, if you're happy - then go with it. But be mindful that you don't allow it to get in the way of other aspects of life. We all have hobbies, we need to them stop us being bored..

Didn't you turn up in a thread about gaming t-shirts and say that they were all indisputably lame?

You seem to be rather blinkered to the fact that you are posting on a forum primarily focussed on computer hardware. Very cool I'm sure...

Although the wording isn't entirely accurate, that is my opinion, yes.

I'm here for the lifestyle forums, not the hardware ones. Just because they are there, doesn't mean I use them. And yes, I am cool.
