XP's defragmenter is quite slow and doesn't give the performance benefits of some commerical defrags. All XP's one does is defragment the files, but it will place them anywhere on the drive it can find enough free space.I'm about to defrag a 40GB HDD. It's hasn't been defragged in the last 5 years. Is there anything wrong with XP's built in defragmenter? Is there a better, free alternative?
