If any section of motorway doesn't have any lights on currently?

I want to go out and do some long exposure shots but I don't fancy wasting £60 in petrol to find that lights on it all the way!!!

Any ideas folks?

Many Thanks,
Jake

Motorways only tend to be lit in the proximity of junctions with other Motorways. Find a stretch in the middle of nowhere and you'll be fine.

Cheers fella, I'll go out for a drive in a lil bit :)

Anyone interested in the result? :p

I AM - I love long exposure road shots.

No worries.

Heres one I did ages ages ages ago

Took that in September 06, when I first got my SLR :)

Hopefully tonight's will be a tad improved :p

m11 here

doh, bit late. I guess you will see it later. I did a few shots there with my Bridge camera, i really should go back now i got a SLR...

Yep, thought about the M11 as it's not too far from me, in the end I picked a spot on the A12, the Margaretting turn off if anybody knows it.

yeah thats good too. less cars though?

True, but I didn't think of the M11 till the way home tbh. Because I knew exactly where this bridge was.

Anyway, here it is...

Sorry about the size, but didn't want to sacrifice quality! Air pollution was a right pita.

Thanks for the comments guys! :)

Brilliant thing about these pictures is that they really are not that hard to do!

@ Griffo - Yeah I used to get worried about this but tbh I'm quite a burly lad and if anyone does decide to show up I'll just pick the tripod up and hit them with it :p

And yeah I don't mind you using it, what res do you want it dude?

Ah awesome, thanks dude :)

I might go park in view of that J28 one on the M25 and get you guys to screenprint it :p

Thanks Begbie :)

No special kit needed, they are dead easy to do.

Camera on said tripod.

ISO100 - Shutter speed set to however long you want, or if you have a remote shutter just set it to bulb mode, focus set to infinity and go from there really. WB I just leave on auto and adjust it manually when post processing.

Like I say, dead dead easy :) - Good first shots for any SLR beginner, will give you a good understanding of exposure and ISO as well.

@Sukh - I'll just upload the full size 3000 and something by 2000 and something and then you can stretch, crop, whatever? ok :)

Thanks for the comments guys.

I do want to expand my motors portfolio, I'm by no means anywhere near as good as rg-tom but if anyone is relatively closeby and wants some pics doing drop me an email [email protected] - you can have the final images free as long as I can host them on my site :)

Damn you phate that background has caused screenburn :p
