Is there anyway to make your second monitor usable while playing a game on the main?

I have 2 monitors going into one graphics card, I use it for watching videos on one while working in word on the other and stuff like that. It would be nice to be able to use the other monitor while playing games,

ie. When i'm dead on counter strike, I could browse on the other monitor by pressing down a key on the keyboard, allowing me to slide the mouse over to the other screen and work on that screen, without having an effect on counter strike....

something like that,

is it possible?

you would probably have to run cs in a window to achieve that, they when you alt tabbed you could move the mouse over but still see cs
