Hi,

my sister is wanting a laptop/netbook for just surfing the web, emailing and storing her photos.

the current netbooks that overclockers have seem to get a good write up esp the toshiba.

my question is between the 2 below is the Inspiron 1120 overall better for say 20 quid more.

199 quid Toshiba NB200-12N specs are

Intel Atom N280 1.66GHz 10.1" LED, 250GB HDD Mini Netbook (Gunmetal Grey) - Windows 7 - Open Box [NB200-12N]

and

for about 220 quid

# Inspiron 1120
# Processor : AMD Athlon II Neo K125 (SingleCore,1.7GHz,1MB Cache,12W)
# Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium (64 BIT)
# 250gb hard drive
# 2GB, DDR3, 1066MHz, 2 DIMM
# Notebook Screen:LCD,11.6HDF,WLED,CMO
# Obsidian Black IMR No Pattern

basically i see 2GB of ram and a faster cpu, plus full win7 on the inspiron 1120.

whats the gap between the two in performance.

thanks

Tim

AMD usually comes with dedicated GPU. That makes them better at multimedia / games, but battery life suffers.

What's the gpu? HD4225?

EDIT : Ah, it's a 4200. Definitely the AMD Nile platform, if you don't need uber battery life. 1366 x 768 screen, HDMI, 2 gigs, light gaming. The difference is quite massive actually.
