Is there something that holds a cd player in a mondeo?

Well with me giving up on the car pc, I want to fit a Cd player back into the car.

However I remember that I removed something to make the screen fit, I cant remember if it was a cage or just a bar but I have a feeling this will be needed to fit the CD player in? I have had a look around and cant find one lying about so not sure if I imagined it or if there was something there.

If its a MK3 there isnt a cage, the standard HU just clips to the fascia

It's a Fascia adaptor isn't it?

Yeh fascia adaptor - only a strip of plastic in these IIRC

No its not the adapter, all that does is hide the gap when fitting a single into a double din? I have a facia adapter to hand.

I could have sworn I ripped a cage or some metal out of the gap when I was fitting the screen (2 years ago).
