Is there something up with Rosetta servers?

Non of my computers are able to download new tasks, subsequently have processing power sitting idly around.

Anyone else having trouble?

Ok well I'll add my cpu to E@H for now. How does BOINC cope with multiple projects, run them in order downloaded, run one from each?

The quick answer is 'badly'.:p

Its always boom to bust round here, one minute it lives hand to mouth, then next thing it downloads 300 wus !

The correct answer should be that it is based on the percentage that you set in the resource share section of your preferences.

Haha :p.

I might be being a real tool, but how do I allocate 50% to E@H and 50% to R@H?

Though thinking about it I should probably just crunch E@H until R@H is sorted.

Its all relative so if they are both set to 100 they will both get half each, although when there is no work for one project the other will get all of the processor time.

The complications arise when work is present for both because of the concepts of short and long term debts etc. There are switches you can set in the config files to reveal the logic used when fetching work or assigning work to a processor but I haven't found it to be very helpful at explaining what is going on, just too much gibberish is produced.

But if you do want to change the ratio, just adjust the option for 'resource share and graphics' on your account pages on the project web site.

You can also turn on use of the GPU here (in EAH) if you have a suitable card. The client is not brilliantly efficient yet, but it does knock a chunk off the runtime and thats better than nothing for me when SETI is out of work.
