Is there something wrong with Catalyst 9.8 drivers?

I installed them and my PC kept crashing every few minutes. I've gone back to 9.7 and it's fine. Has anyone heard of bugs or anything in the 9.8 drivers?

I've not had the same problem as you but I had a weird issue where my monitor went into sleep mode and refused to wake up - I've just disabled sleep for now to remedy that.

I suspect my freezing problems are caused by 9.8's

The 9.8 drivers are supposed to be a really good set it could just be bad luck on your part. Try using a driver cleaning program after you get rid of the 9.7's to see if that helps any.

I'd try using the 9.8 Hotfix drivers, before my laptop fried I found them generally a bit nicer in day to day usage

Been using 9.8 since day of release and have had no issues at all.

I switched drivers from when using an Nvidia GTX 295 to HD 4890, used Driver Sweeper in safe mode to remove old drivers, installed Catalyst 9.8's & not had any problems with any game, sleep mode works fine also.

I haven't had any major issues with the 9.8, had problems at first with my overclocks but a proper uninstall and reinstalled it again worked fine!

Just so you know the 9.8's break the game anno 1404. They cause the island textures to dissapear.

Yeah 9.8 drivers crash once a day with my 3870 card, but it not a big deal cos the drivers recover themselfs. Dont have a prob putting my system to sleep tho.
