my new ati 4850 runs what seems very hot to touch. I already have 2 fans in my case. Is there a device like air condictioning which fills the case with cold air or what is the most efficent product on the market to dispell heat from the case except going down the water route

Cards are usually the hottest thing in the case, so dont be worried too much. Try and find out what the temps actually are.

You could get a custom cooler for it, or a better case. Thats all your options really :p

I like the fridge idea not sure it will fit in the case though haha

As the card is surprisingly hot to start with it has made me wary of trying to overclock it. The case is big and has plenty of room for air to circulate. I have one fan on the side which sucks air in and the one below the psu which expells air. It makes sense to have then alternate or should they both be sucking air in or out etc?

my NB cooler is hot enough to actually burn you if you touch it for more than a second :o

Azza wont give me the damn fan for it

Anything over 50C is very hot to the touch. Over 60C and you get into the burning sensation zone.

Check what temp it is actually at in CCC. If it's not going over 80 on load then I wouldn't worry.

Maybe an additional 120mm front fan pushing air in along with the side fan pushing in and the rear fan pulling air out would help.

The easiest way to drop your temperatures is to drop the air temperature in the room. That means you need air conditioning. The cheapest decent air conditioning units start at about £500, and a properly installed external evaporator unit will run to about £1500 (less if you buy in the winter). I have my home office cooled to 18C and that cost just over £2500 because I have so much computer kit in there.

If you are water-cooled then you can buy an aquarium water-chiller for about £300 that will easily cool 4 or 5 PCs on a manifold system.

Whack an Arctic Cooling Accelero S1 on it, watch the temps drop....

My 8800GT went from 77 degrees under load in winter, to barely getting to 50 degrees on a warm sunny day, in a small case with no fan near it! Pop a fan on or close by, and it'd be even better.
