Is there such a thing as a good wireless router?

I'm looking into getting a wireless router/modem.

I read that the 108Mbps+ is much better than 54Mbps speed routers, so been checking them out as i'd like a decent signal and was told the latest MIMO routers are not really much better and not worth the extra expense.

Thing is, all the routers i check out get very mixed comments/reviews which make me wary and there doesn't seem to be much choice in the 108Mbps+ standard within my budget which is £90.

I considered the Netgear DG834GT but it gets a lot on negative comments.
So now i'm totally confused, can anyone please recommend a reliable router?

Is there anything special you need from the router? I've got no problems covering my whole flat with good signal from a simple 802.11g router from Netgear (WGR614v4) that only cost me £15.

Because I've only got a 2mb cable connection I don't need anything faster than that, and its more than upto the job of online gaming, LAN gaming and transferring files across local machines.

I'm not clued up on wireless networking, but as i need the signal to go through a few walls and floors thought the 108mbps or above would be the best option.

I'll be connecting a desktop pc and xbox 360.

I'm considering the netgear DG834PN at the moment.

was that an auction purchase? Are you using PCMCIA or USB wireless cards...or is it built in to your laptop?

Thanks

Cool, think i will go for that Netgear. Cheers.
Are you using the USB adaptor or the pci? Like everything else, these seem to get mixed reviews!
