Is there such thing as a software soundcard?

I just have a intergrated sound card on my studio 17, just wondering is there any software that would improve sound at all?

There isn't anything that will improve the sound quality - infact, it'd probably make it worse. All you can do is try messing with equalizers or filters such as the SRS WOW effect in WMP.

Yeah, you're pretty stuck really unless you buy an external card. Filters and such can improve the sound subjectively.

The onboard on my Dell isn't that bad though.

ASIO4ALL sorta makes a virtual sound card, although will be utterly pointless in your situation
