hey ther all, i was just stumbled across the 'Gigabyte GA-MA78LMT-US2H 760G (Socket AM3) DDR3 Motherboard'
and on the overclockers website their is no discription to say this board is an ATX. However, every wher else i do go ther is only GA-MA78LMT ATX
therfore, i wanted to knoe for certain is this board ATX or is just as big as original motherboards?

That board is micro ATX (24.3cm x 24.3cm), see here.

It will fit fine in a standard ATX case, it just doesn't offer as many PCI and PCIE slots as ATX boards.

does it matter about ATX for gaming?

It really depends what you are doing.

If you are just running the CPU at stock speeds (no overclocking) and have a single graphics card in the main PCI-E slot then this board is great for a gaming system.

However, if you want to overclock the CPU then this isn't the board for you - go for one of with at least a 770/870 chipset - or 790X/890GX if you can afford it. These will all come in the standard ATX size - so make sure you case can fit this.

Also, if you want to run two graphics cards in CrossfireX then you need a higher-end board. In this case go for 790X/890GX at the minimum.

Finally, ignoring the options mentioned above a full size ATX board will give you more room to install graphics cards with large coolers, sound cards, networking cards, controller cards, TV cards etc. With a micro-ATX boards you are rather restricted with what cards you can add alongside a standard graphics card with a dual-slot cooler.
