Is this a cable problem?

I'm getting this green noise with my new LG 24" (L246WH-BN).

I can't tell if the problem is my 7 m DVI-HDMI cable or is the monitor just faulty?

The green noise appears on 1600x1200 with black background.

Had a similar problem once but it was blue instead of green.
I replaced the cable and all was well.

Before you go cable shopping just try it through vga or dvi if you have one spare!
