Is this a diet or exercise issue?

Hey, before I go off in the wrong direction I was just after some opinions on this, I'm almost 29 years old and basically haven't exercised properly in almost a decade, in fact for the past 7 years most of my exercise has consisted of swivelling an office chair lol. Having said that, I have never really needed to exercise to stay in shape and always eaten whatever I wanted but I guess I should start paying attention to one of both of these areas lol, in school/college nobody believed I never worked out and just ate junk because I was always "in shape" thought no effort of my own so I have no real idea how to get in shape.

The only real issue is my six pack seems to have congealed into a vat over the last decade, I wouldn't say im fat, its just, its all one area, I can see a faint outline by tensing my abs. I haven't put on any weight over the years, in fact my weights been static I was 16 and my quads/biceps are unaffected. I have always been very naturally fit (I.E right now I know I could go for my first long distance run of the century and I know I would have no problem doing it or overtaking other older joggers who run the circuit every week) and I have never eaten healthily ever which is why im a bit perplexed to how to go about fixing this, any ideas would help please.

Go down the gym and watch the biggest guy in there pump iron. It sounds like you'll gain without having to even lift.

Other than the trollin' I have nothing serious to add other than join a gym and see how fit you actually are?

Wasn't really looking to spend money but I guess I can give it a try :)

person does zero exercise for a decade and can outrun experienced runners?

you should take up smoking and binge drinking imo, show them who's boss and that exercise is a waste of time.

I didn't mean like professional marathon runners, just the generic middle aged person who goes out jogging in spandex every night. I don't know why but I have always been very naturally fit, I.E the only thing I have done since around 2000 that I would call strenuous was in 2004, the college I was attending entered an army challenge thing hosted by another college which basically consisted of a load of army people doing different mini events and each college team got a score for event, anyway one of the mini events was a sit up type thing where they called out positions and you had to rise/lower to that position, I managed to outlast everyone on my team, everyone on the opposing teams, and only stopped when the instructor (who was taking part) decided to end it.

At the time I remember other people being amazed that I did that and then went straight into the assault course event that was next (some of them were pretty much dying on the floor :S) but I didn't think anything of it as I was just used to being like that. Everyone who took part that day got a special event T-shirt but a select few including myself were also given the same type of shirt the army personnel wore for the event as a reward (still wear mine sometimes with pride lol), was a cool day and looking back I guess I was kinda "odd" athletically speaking, actually now I look back to school and stuff I would defiantly say that, its just something that I never thought about at the time.

As for cigarettes/alcohol I never touch either.

*EDIT*

I just wan't to clarify, I don't feel unfit/unhealthy or anything, its just I can't see my six pack (can see the outline and feel it if I tense up) and I'm not overweight.
