I built a machine a while ago with 2 x BFG 8800 Ultras in Sli. I've always had graphics corruption of some kind, tearing, streaks of corrupt graphics flash dow screen etc. Some games were worse than others. I've always assumed it was a heat issue and tried to fix it by adding more fans in the case etc but without any luck. A friend was home yesterday and put some software on to read the temperatures, the System/CPU reached a high of around 31-32, and the GPU's around 70/71. I thought that was quite high but apparently not? So we took a card out and played with just 1 of 8800 Ultras and after a day of gaming there was no corruption.

Does this suggest the card we took out is faulty or could it be something else ?

Thanks

Jase

did u try both cards on there own? both could be fine and it could be a faulty pci-e slot, or dodgey power supply

I hadn't tried that tbh, but I have now.

I put the other card in by itself, and sure enough after a minute or so of playing the graphics corruption started. I guess this would confirm a faulty card ?
