I am wanting to get some decent landscape picture but not been able to achieve anything like you lot do.

I need to learn what settings i should use also what to look for to make good photos.

Is this book any good

Understanding Exposure by Bryen Peterson

Also what other books?

That's my usual recommendation for a starter book. It's quite old now so everything refers to film but the principles apply to DSLRs too.

Don't know what version you've got, rp, but there's a 'Revised Edition' which supposedly add some subject matter about digital.

Difficult to tell the difference between the two without having them both to compare, but ISBN 0817463003 is the 'newer' one.

Ive got the revised Understanding Exposure and found it to be a good read and im sure i learnt a lot from it...

Ive also got his ¨Learning to See Creatively¨ which I found very useful.

And you may want ¨The Photoshop CS2 Book for Digital Photographers¨ by Scott Kelby... im sure a few of these will be going up cheap in the MM soon as well, with the revised CS3 book coming out.
