ASUS Zenbook Pro UX6404VV

  • Hi, I managed to get a deal for ASUS Zenbook Pro UX6404VV. 120hz OLED, RTX 4060 laptop. £830. Is that a good deal or were they any other options I should have considered? I already have a setup at home (4090, 13900k) but I needed something for the car and work.
From what I can tell .. it's a very good deal. as it seems like a superior version of the G14 but wanted some advice. I know new laptops are around the corner but I assume the newer ones will be more expensive than this at new price.

I'd say it's a pretty good deal for the specs although it's quite a low profile laptop. I can't find any details on the wattage of the GPU but I'd take a guess at around 75w which would limit gaming performance

Thanks,. For £800 seems like a good punt I guess to see if I like a gaming laptop. I'm tempted to spring for the 4070 version but it's £500 more and starts to defeat the idea of me getting good value toys for the car. Also with new laptops around the corner, £800 doesnt seem too bad as I can't get anything for that price new but £1300 gets into the territory of potential new laptops.

4070 mobile is barely faster than the mobile 4060 and the latter basically taps out at around 100w anyway due to voltage limit (if 75w it may actually be 90w with boost).

Laptop is a great deal assuming it’s the one with the 3k OLED screen and 13900H. Even allows for more RAM which is a rarer sight in the 14” models.

Thank you mate. My logic was I might get another 4-10fps on the 4070 but ultimately both will become outdated at the same time due to the VRAM limitations.

I do fear this is a poor purchase tho as I'll be running it off of battery and USB-C. I don't expect buttery smooth FPS. Will be happy with 1080p medium settings 40-60fps.

Thanks. I ended up getting it for £540. I'm fairly happy with it at that price. Will be good for using it in the car in gaming emergencies.
