Save yourself the hassel and buy from outlet or from OcUK Notebooks.

MSI Wind U230 is ideal if you don't like the colour paint it

The ASUS X59GL was £420(ish) when new in 2009 and the Inspiron 910 is not ideal the n270 is way long in the tooth, however both will run Linux well.

If you are strapped for cash then try and barter the price down, however l would not touch it with a barge pole.
