First things frist the 1 year warrenty is the manufactors so your not gaining anything

That could barely play crisis as that cpu is so bad

everything is probably unbraded crap

spend £50 more build it yourself & you will get 3+ warrenty free & it might be able to play crisis barely

thought it might be a bit suspect why say all that about playing crisis which i want to play plus other games if it wont do the job what about this one below?

you will still need to spend atleast 150-300 quid on a decent monitor

do they come with mouse/keyboard/speakers ?

they might not cost much but it all adds up....besdies if your serious about your games then you deffo need a decent mouse.

get yourself some decent speakers/headphones too

i would love to build it myself but never done one im all up for it but then the thought of blowing it up crosses me mind my budget is 600 max including windows so if theres a decent setup for that then plz feel free to help really want to play my games near full settings and cod5 is coming

soz forgot to say i have a 19" hdtv i use for my ps3 and laptop mouse keyboard i got already from my last pc i will ask about psu when i email him

In that first pc the E1200 is'nt even a Core2Duo. It's a crappy 1.6Ghz dual core Celeron.

In the second pc i suspect the gold psu may be a Q-Tec and we all know what happens to them. The Motherboard is an old 650i which is'nt a very good choice to go with a Q6600 and there is also no O/S included.

If they are from the bay i would'nt touch them with a bargepole. To be honest you are far better off building your own or a pre-built from a reputable retailer.

ok ok you lot win yes they where from the bay and the 2nd seemed a good deal and was only 40min drive from my house
so down to the nitty gritty then never built a pc but i am willing to learn and have read abit about making one from scratch and look more easy than say 10yr ago to build.
my budget is 600max what can i get with that?

am i able to make or buy from here a pc that would run games like up and coming cod5 at good settings or am i dreaming lol.

That should be good for playing most games at max with fairly good resolutions, you might want to change the case, and you could either add a DVD drive or recycle one from your old pc if possible. You would also need an OS.

spoke to dear wife, shes paying lol said i could have this if its gonna run games at full wack.so is this a good one im a bit confussed now on whats what with pc's been a ps3 user for a while lost track and want to get back to pc games lol

vista home premuim 64bit

just under £800 200 over but she happy'ish to pay that unless theres something else i could get for that not really a ati fan but if they are better than nvidia then i will give it a go.

What's confusing you? :)

The picklist Jak has above is a great spec system to start off with. With a couple of little upgrades (in particular a non-stock CPU cooler, and maybe a couple of decent 120mm fans to rotate case air), it'll run most games perfectly well. Once you know the specs of games that are yet to be released, I'd worry about a more serious upgrade then (Jak's list will upgrade sufficiently for a while to come too).

The E8400 is a very easy overclock - never OC'ed a box before, but had mine at 3600GHz with no problems whatsoever (with a little research and reading of these forums).

for a 19" tv u deffo wont need more than a 4850
also will u be overclocking ?
if not then go for a cheaper motherboard and memory

no point paying around 100 quid extra for more overclockable parts if they are not to be used.

if u are overclocking then getting a e5200 chip which cost abt half the one specced...........should easily do 3.0 ghz with no extra voltage needed.
i know the other chip can be clocked too but he is running on a 19" hdtv...he wont even see the extra power so better of saving some money

The spec i put together uses newer tech than most of the stuff in the prebuilt pc, for instance the E8400 is more efficient clock for clock than the old Q6600 and the P45 chipset is more recent than P35. A fast dual core is better for gaming than a slower quad. If you get an aftermarket cooler that is half decent you are practically guaranteed to get 3.6GHz from the 8400. The 4850 is on par performance wise with the 9800GTX, at a lower price.

If you are unsure about building your own pc then go with the prebuilt one, but their are plenty of guides on the net including on this forum to help you put it together.

ok so lets build this pc then what aftermarket cooler should i get newbie here!! where's that go lol so that graphics card gonna be able to play lastest games like cod4 ect what case could i get that one seems a bit boring no offence lol!!

need a dvd and dvd rewriter for me dvd's cd rom as well hope you dont mind helping me here long as i anit got to upgrade it in 6months lol hope you can help me set this up
