Been messing around most of today trying to get my Q9450 to a reasonable clock without a high voltage

Currently:

What are your thoughts / oppinions?

Cheers

That is a good clock for that CPU. What motherboard have you got and what temps are you getting with that clock?

Motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3P.

Temps are as follows idle.. dont go above 60 on full stress prime (on water)

Yeah but 60 under full load is not to bad for 3.5ghz overclock on that CPU. Have you tried lowering the CPU voltage to see if it will run stable at a lower Voltage.

Rather hot for idle, espcially for water

Yeah, my room is MEGA hot though lol, sun shines straight in from about 2pm onwards

That is the lowest voltage i could get it to work with

Its surprising how much difference a hot sunny room can make. check the ambient temperature of the room and compare it to your cases ambient temp.
