Is this a good setup for a PS3?

I'm about to get a PS3 and I need some advice. I thought I'd treat myself to a new display and some speakers. It's a bedroom setup so I don't need particularly powerful speakers or a monitor larger than 24". This is what I've picked out so far:

Viewsonic VX2260WM

Logitech Z-4
http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/speakers_audio/home_pc_speakers/devices/250&cl=roeu,en

(I've already got a HDMI cable, ethernet cable and as for the console I'll probably pick up an 80gb - it really depends on what offers are available at the time of purchase)

So, what do you think?

Can anyone see any compatibility issues in this setup?

If all you're after is stereo sound you would be able to hook the PS3 up to a pre-existing stereo in your room if you have one which would be far better than the Z4s.

If not, another couple of decent stereo speakers i know of are:

and if you can afford them:

I would be willing to bet that they'll beat the Z4s in high and mid notes, the lack of a sub may mean they'll come short on bass but i tend to find logitech speakers prioritize bass over other levels so it prob won't be missed

Screen looks good tho

Those would be my choice ^ but I'm biased because I have the A5's. They work quite well for multi purpose tasks and are excellent speakers.

There are a whole host of reviews on the site linked too!

EDIT: Just realised that your initial link was not a good site for an equivalent price :D. 119 euros it said so I figured budget of around £100.

Yeah, I found the Z-4s cheaper on a few other sites but I thought it would be best to link to the official site. The Audioengines look quite nice but this is only going to be a bedroom setup so I think £100 might be a bit much, £50 would be better for me.

I've heard good things about the Z-4s so I think I'll stick with them for the time being, unless anyone knows of any compatibility issues between them and the PS3/Viewsonic monitor.

The monitor is compatible for sure as it supports HDCP.

The speakers, i had a quick look and found a youtube video that showed the connectors, it was quite low quality (the video, not the speakers :p) however i think it does have the connectors you need to hook the PS3 straight up to it. Even if it doesn't have the right ones a couple of cheap adaptors is all you need to sort it out.

So basically, yeah, it should all work

The logitech Z4's are quite good for a 2.1 setup for £50 or thereabouts provided that you don't like using too much bass as the sound seems to distort very easily after you have the bass setting turned up a little too much. Other than that very capable speakers for the money.
