Ive come up with this lot for another pc mainly used for video encoding and lan parties (My mach 2 gt is too heavy!!) Ive already got a pci-e x800 pro gfx and a dvd-rw and a 160gb hdd.

All sounds good, the 9xx series intels are ment to be a big improvement over the last lot of 8xx but I would still try and go for an A64 X2 or if u want to stretch go for a nice opteron as they will give u dual core and better performance for just about everything. And if ure particular video encoding does utilise the dual core then amd does it better so should see bigger boost that way too. but upto u in the end mate.
