Is this a GPU problem?

Hey guys,

Recently got my two 290s and one of them (the boxes that is) was damaged. Looked like it had been thrown around a bit and crushed, so I put the one I was worried about in my old rig, just to test.

Upon booting, where i would usually see my mobo screen graphic, I see this:

Should I be worried? Or is this more likely a problem elsewhere? After this, the system boots up fine and I can't see any display problems. I've tried running a few games and all seems ok.. I don't get great performance but then this is a really old rig that will be bottlenecking the 290 to hell.

Update****

Ive updated bios and made sure all windows display drivers up to date. Still see this upon booting.. Why would i be seeing the motherboard graphic?

Will continue to play around tonight.

Does it happen using a different connection from what you're using now? For example if using HDMI try a DVI connection etc. Does it still occur if you disable the bios logo screen?

Ive tried both types of connector, still the same. Though i will try disable the logo screen if i can find out how on this mobo.

I mean its an extremely old mobo so im banking on it just being this crappy old thing. At the moment its all i can test them on.

The fact it happens with both cards is sort of reassuring, as i dont think its the cards themselves. But id def like to find out why its happening so ill have another play tonight.
