Please remember that any mention of competitors, hinting at competitors or offering to provide details of competitors will result in an account suspension. The full rules can be found under the 'Terms and Rules' link in the bottom right corner of your screen. Just don't mention competitors in any way, shape or form and you'll be OK.

is this a mistake

Nope. Loyal forum members get a big discount they can apply at checkout. That price stops non loyal members from buying

ahh.....so I was missing something, just seen it in the members market, thought for a minute the world had gone totally mad lol

Spent thousands over the years with Overclockers but only have 479 posts, so I still can't get a GPU. Can you look at past trading history as well - motherboards, memory, cases, CPU's etc. ??

We have tried adjusting the criteria to access the private sections, but alas after numerous attempts we cannot. :(

We are still investigating other ways to get cards at discounted prices to other customers as well, but right now this is our best solution that works extremely well.

The only thing I'd say that is that you could have thousands of posts and only have spent £50 over the years, I'd have thought "A loyal customer" rather than "loyal forum member" would have been a better criteria. But I guess you've got to put a stick in the mud and start somewhere :)

I guess it’s better than nothing being done, agree.

It sounds like they are stuck between a rock and a hard place with outdated forums and website. I will admit that it’s slightly frustrating to have spent north of £10,000 with OCUK over the past 5 years but not be able to get a card because I only made a few hundred post during that period. Still sounds like they are doing what they can and it’s better than nothing, at least someone gets a card even if I am missing out.

From my technical discussions with Admins before I believe the issue is that much of the software on the forums is only partially customizable. You can't expect OCUK to redevelop their forums and main site just to do a slightly different kind of deal. If they do a custom deal just for you then they'll get every Tom Dick and Harry asking for favors. In some cases there isn't a good answer to some problems, when the cost difference in developing the software for different solutions is significant.

It is for sure better than nothing, and in theory it's a great idea. It's just a shame people like me (spent over £15,000 with OC over the last 10 years I've been a member of the forum) who come here to read posts and use the search engine to find answers, but don't get involved in the actual discussions much (I'm not a tech-support kind of person, I'm not confident enough in my knowledge to give out advice to people that might cost them money/damages) slip through the cracks.

I'm not hugely put out right now, as a 3070 isn't much use to me (I'm needing a 3090, or maybe a 3080ti as a compromise) but I'll probably have to spam the forum for the next few days to get up to 1000 just in case they ever do a higher-spec card drop.

It is a good idea to block the scalpers, but not useful for regular people. The whole graphics card situation is a nightmare. I have been trying to get a RTX 3070 series for at least 6 months for my son.

I don't even think they need to be discounted IMO - I think genuine gamers are willing to pay retail for the cards we just need the opportunity to get our hands on them before a bot can checkout every card in stock!

I am certainly happy to pay retail prices. It's just the over-inflated prices that get me. I was looking at the 3070 ti release yesterday. Basically, they all went really quickly. Then shortly afterwards they appeared on ebay straight away.

You'll want to remove that competitor name.

I'm sure we'd all love to pay MSRP - sadly ridiculous prices with hidden codes is the only way most of us are going to even get close! :/
