Is this a Motherboard issue?

Hi,

I've had a problem with my computer in that it would randomly lock up, forcing me to do a forced-restart of the system. The system I have is a HP Pavilion Elite m9351.uk.

I've had no other problems with it, however it can last for a few hours to not being able to boot up without it locking up. The motherboard being used is an Intel G33 Express, so if a replacement is needed, any suggestions?

just locking up, no blue screening?, when I had a problem exactly the same as yours, it turned out to be bent pins on the motherboard CPU socket. Give it a check

Yeah it's just locking, not BSOD

How long do you leave it locked before you hold the power button?, When mine locked up, i'd wait bout 30 seconds to a minute and the blue screen would come up. Best bet is to check your CPU socket

It would just stay locked indefinitely, no recovery unless I done a hard shutdown
