Is this a nice gaming PC spec?

I think what stulid is refering to is the resolution. Monitors have a native resolution which will provide the best quality picture. You need to know what this is and see if the gfx card can handle gaming at that res.

The other issue is directx11 and how well the cards perform using it. The 5770 may "cope" now but as games progress it will "age" rapidly.

I think you did well with your first spec. You picked a good mobo which gave you options in the future.....namely true xfire. You obviously havent seen the number of threads where people have had trouble with the OCZ RAM. We felt that the F3 would offer better performance for a gaming rig.

I honestly think if you can stall the build a few weeks and see if these new gfx cards land and alter prices you'll be laughing. The 5830 is better than the 5770 and worth the extra £20. If you wait and it falls to the current price of the 5770 even better.

You say you wont use two cards but we can't really predict how they will cope with directx11 games in the future. When the rig is stuggling to hit the magic 60fps in the future the 5800 will be cheep cheep like the budgie and he puts a 5830/70 on his letter to santa ;p

Hope this helps and we havent confused you too much

I nearly mentioed the 4890 stu but then considering its not directx11 compatible i thought best not complicate things futher.

Have a read of that kool. When you get to the performance for games it compares a number of cards and shows the fps. Hope it helps you form a decision.

*edit* bear in mind this was a while ago and new drivers will change the outcome of the result

because it can't run anywhere near its 650w label, the one thing you can't get away with getting something on the cheap is the psu, get either the ocz or bequiet 600w's.
