about a week ago i upgraded my system (see sig) everything has ran perfectly (for once :p)... and still is :), the only problem i have really is that when i goto switch it on, it powers for 'less than a second' and switchs straight back off then when i press again it powers on normal and everythings fine, today i needed 3 attempts before it switched on so is there maybe a potentially more serious problem brewing up there or dont i need to worry???

what happens if you press it once and leave it. Reason i say this my system turns on for a second then turns off then about 5ish seconds later will turn on and stay on

Switch it on, wait for it to turn off again, and then wait again. It should power up once more by itself. My Abit IP35 does this and I think it's a BIOS thing that can be fixed by an update.

My bros' IP35-E does this and it freaks me out...the case fans seem to keep spinning throughout the weirdness though, so check for that OP so we know if it's the exact same issue.

my p5k wifi does the same, powers for a second, switches off, then powers up fine. Very occasionally it will power up first time. Also, when I shut down my psu (corsair 620 modular) makes quite a click sometimes when it switches off (anyone else experience this?).

i know my psu takes longer then older psu's to 'feed' the power through, now that they have done away the 'the red switch' :D it now needs to take those extra seconds to 'scan' how much power is going in... no clicking though :)

My p5K Premium does it. but onyl when power is completly off (at mains and/or the PSU switch) if i just press the power switch it'll start first time, i think it's some kind of diagnostics thing, there's plenty of posts about it in the forum

ok i think i know whats wrong now... its my fault!
seems i may have been pressing too quick when what i should be doing is press n hold for about 1 second for it to stay on :D

Yep, it's a BIOS sanity check thingy that P35 boards have.
