Is this a PSU or card issue?

In Rig: Corsair HX1050, 2 x Gainward GTX 580 Phantoms 3GB

When I have a game on the go, occasionally, the cards will just die (for a couple of seconds), and then start up again. When I say die, I mean completely stop, screen goes black, and the fans cut out.

They then start back up again and I can carry on. there is no crash of sorts, and nothing seems to have been affected.
 
Weird problem. I would deffo say it is not the PSU, as if it was, it would crash to nothing (computer restart). Do you get any warnings or is there anything in the event viewer ?
