Is this a solid entry gamer build for my roomate?

My room-mate is looking towards entering the gaming market and knows the investment. I was looking at a few skylake builds but i wasn't convinced with the speed vs cost compared to the older chips. He would want something that 1) looks decent 2) is reasonably quiet and 3) plays anything at 60fps @1080p. Mouse/keyboard/monitor not required.

This is what i came back with, any advice on what to swap-out would be appreciated. (he collects blu-rays so the optical drive is required)

The case is not compatable with the motherboard and optic drive.

would "bottom 1" or "top 2" be an option for the rad?

Well I would choose a 120 option and sling it in the back, I have used this one a few times...and its silent and thats with the stock fans at about 1600 rpms

P.S. I use only one fan

Or have a look at some other cases...maybe a Corsair 450D ?...bit more money though...but more space inside

You might as well go with Skylake.
