Am disgusted by the humidity and stickyness of my room (no jokes!) and can't sleep, I need aircon but can't fork too much money out.

Would THIS thingy be a close-enough equivalent that could bring temperatures/humidity down to bearable levels?

Mate that's a humidifier, what you need is a DE-humidifier.

Look at it, it's an air cooler with added humidifier function, nowhere does it say de-humidifier.

By why would anyone want a cooler that added moister to the air - I could understand in a heater - but a cooler?! It just makes no sense!

Ever thought that it could be for places that aren't as humid as our houses? Maybe people grow plants that need a humid climate.

But why would you want it cold and humid... its a tower fan with a 'humidifier', it has to be a typo surely.
