Is this a worthwhile upgrade?

Hi gpu experts :)

I've had the system in my sig for years now and with the (hopefully) impending release of GTA V I figured an upgrade is required, bearing in mind I had to tweak things down a fair bit on GTA IV to get it all nice and smooth :p

So I'm looking at something like this:

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-330-AS&tool=3

Please can I have some comments on how this will run on my current system with a demanding game such as GTAV?

I'm aware my system is getting a little old but as a quick fix with a possible platform change using the new card in the near future, what do people think?

Thanks

PS I only use Asus AMD graphics cards and will probably get a better CPU cooler and overclock the pants off it.

I think that's a strong upgrade choice for you. Your CPU is well clocked however of course - ideally you'd want to upgrade a couple of parts alongside this.

However if you were playing the percentage game in regards to what's the best performance enhancement you can get for the budget you want to put down then you're on track with that choice.

What resolution do you game at? All signs point to GTA V being as unpleasant to run as GTA IV was in its day, but there's little you can do about that in a single card setup if you run high res. The linked card is a good leap over what you have though.

Thanks folks, I'm out of the loop on the latest hardware :)

Purely based on previous experience regarding reliability. The only cards I've had which have lasted 2 years plus have been from Asus. Granted, that is quite a long time in the world of GPUs but I don't upgrade that often.

I run at 1920 X 1080, not particularly high res compared some setups around nowadays but hopefully it'll suffice.
