Hi,
Driving around a Ford Ka for the next few weeks and its now due for an MOT, i've noticed however that one of the headlamps has formed condensation on the inside of the glass and given it a misty type appearance.

My mate reckons that this will constitute a failure on an MOT, can anyone confirm this before I stick it through an MOT.

I'll give that a shot, how long do you think that might hold it off for, will probably drop it at the test in the morning before work hopefully it wont reform by the time they come to test it.

Depends on your tester, I have known lights go in that couldnt light up a piece of paper at point blank range but it has the potential to fail to its best to sort it first.

Hard to say as it will depend on the weather but to give yourself the best chance make sure you have your headlights on whilst driving that day. They will give off a nice bit of heat to keep the water as vapour instead of allowing it to condensate.

Had mine done this morning £50.35

took over 90 mins

Sorry, my mistake, £50.35 is correct. MOT testers have a maximum amount that they're allowed to charge, but not a minimum. It has recently risen from £44.15 to £50.35.

It's normally between £25 - £35 round here (surrey) I've had them done for £20 in Anglesey though.

Damn thats cheap. I get mine done at trade price and it still costs me £35.
