Hi everyone

Total noob when it comes to overclocking and was wondering if this guide was any good

I'm looking to OC my i7 4770k to around 4.2 ghz.
My specs are

i7 4770k
Asus Maximus VII Ranger
Corsair hydro CPU cooler
8mb Corsair Vengance RAM

The guide I linked to in my original post though was more specific for my CPU and how far I want to overclock.

There's a good guide here on what each setting actually does on Asus ROG boards.

This guide is more relevant to you as it uses a Asus board. Different manufacturers have different names for settings so using a MSI or Gigabyte guide could have you looking in your bios for a setting that is called something different on a Asus board.
