I want to upgrade to 32gb ram. Not a memory expert by any means. I believe however that if using 2 sticks then you want dual rank sticks rather than single rank for best performance in games. This is for a new build i7 11700 on an MSI b560 torpedo by the way.

The crucial ballistix kits seem very good value, but looking on their own website I can’t see any info about whether that are single or dual rank sticks...

Edit - is it something to do with the “2048Meg x 64” info that’s in the specs? Does that mean anything regarding single or dual rank?

can anyone help?

Thanks bud. I actually found an older thread on here just and yes it seems that bizarrely they sell both under the same code, so it’s basically a lottery.

Also, the single rank stuff may overclock really well compared to the dual, so it ends up being no different really, or even better to have the single rank stuff. As I’ve got a b560 board and the only thing I can mess with overclocking wise is the ram, I might oddly enjoy having the single rank stuff to tweak with.

Have ordered some from the rainforest so will see how they are and send back if no good.
