I moved from an 8 year old 24" Dell which is flawless, to a 2 year old 30" Iiyama IPS which is... like this. Advertised as "accurate and consistent colour reproduction" for £570.

Typical? Acceptable?

Didn't buy from OCUK (they don't stock this model) but suspect I could get it sent back as not fit for purpose. I am arm's length away and sitting dead centre.

Would appreciate advice... am I likely to get a better replacement, or is this how things are now? :/

It is slightly exacerbated by the camera, yes - but it's still very visible. The contrast between the bricks and mortar in the background texture is negligible in the bottom corners. Definitely feeling like an RMA. Might keep it for the weekend to check whether I actually want a 30" screen, cos it sure does dominate the desk ^^;

Which Dell do you have Holst1981? I was considering the 3014, but it's twice the price and has plenty of reports of BLB for itself...

I've got a dell u2715 coming tomorrow from the rain forest. Best customer service around on top of dells. Any sign of that and it's going straight back!

I have 2 of those dells on my desk at work and I have never ever seen IPS glow in the year that I have used them. The Dell screens are so so so good, a guy I work with has two 24" Dell TN panels and the difference between the 2 types is night and day.

Only issue I have had has been flickering with DP chaining but I've sorted that, can highly recommend the Dell

I was gearing up to pay for a Dell 3014, but the reports of BLB and general price stopped me. Also OCUK and rainforest lack any stock of the darn things.

Should have waited :( All my other screens are Dell and they are flawless. They must be the only company who admit to the real manufacturing costs of the things...
